Telopea MSL – November Newsletter 2025
Hello Everyone, I hope this email finds all carers, patients and clients as well as expected. I am asking that everyone takes care of themselves and their environments as much as possible. Little things that can help, perhaps book in for the coronavirus protection, or flu vaccination or both, to help protect yourself and others. (This of course is dependent on your personal beliefs).
• Sanitise your hands when filling up with fuel or using electric charging points.
• Wash your hands before attending to a client and after, before you leave.
• After putting the bin out and taking it in, please wash your hands.
• Wear masks if you feel you have the slightest sniffle, sore throat or runny nose.
• Carers wear full ppe and dispose of correctly
• Clients put timers on lights if you are able, or ask the carer to assist with dark nights and mornings.
• Carers please draw blinds or curtains at the tea call during the winter months, obviously with their consent.
• Always leave an extra throw with a client in case they become chilly during the night.
• Carers please carry torches as provided to you for keys safes
• Use de-icers as provided for de-icing your car and patient’s key safes if necessary.
• Raincoats, fleeces, hiviz and cardigans are provided
• Carers watch for slippery fallen leaves on pathways
• Carers close client’s gates so the gate doesn’t bang in the wind.
• Carers be respectful of client’s carpets.
The winter months are upon us so everyone please think of one another. Does your patient have a couple of ready meals extra in stock, bread in the freezer, a packet of biscuits, check for milk, tea bags, coffee, or ready drink sachets, such as Horlicks or hot chocolate. A tin of dried milk is always useful in the cupboard, coffee mate, marvel or similar.
Clients and Patients please keep hydrated, carers always leave water in a beaker or similar within the patients reach for them overnight, change the water in the morning with fresh.
Telopea are here to help you all in whatever way we can, so if you would like something done to help you which isn’t mentioned in the care plan, please ask them.
Carers always take a flask of something either hot or cold and keep in your car, put a spare blanket in the car in case you are held up in traffic or something, please keep your own safety in mind.
Everyone. If you have a concern, please always ring and ask the office.
Love to everyone, from Brenda.
